  i wish there were more jw's resisting the extreme elements within the religion.

  i beleive there are many who know some of the things they hear and read are whack, but stay because they think it's still the group god has chosen.

  but there are ways to voice your opinion without being too vocal or disassociating:.

  Great video!

  You said things that I know/knew I did but hadn't though about it in awhile.

  After decades of the bullshit I've become very good at hiding (non-wash-towel approved) things along with giving canned answers when asked about what I do, or my feelings, just so I can be left alone.

  Your comments were like a punch in the gut, but a good one I may have needed, thank you.

  how do we go about inscribing our lives with meaning within unknown constraints of time and resources?.

  Where was Jehovah for people before The WTS?

  i was just wondering, since the wts claims its the only true religion, and channel to god, where was jehovah for the people before the wts?.

  i watched the sparlock video, it was puke making.

  though my parents were not as strict as caleb's mother, i did identify with him, all those forgotten dreams and lack of opportunties.

  what made me think is the opening line, "obey jehovah" - there was absolutely nothing in that video about jesus.

  no praying before meals?

  i was recently in the company of a jw.

  this is a long time devout jw and i served them a meal.

  i was surprised by their reaction, they simply sat down, grabbed a fork and began shoveling???

  Oh we're supposed to pray before and after EVERYTHING! Most don't though.

  I only ever pray when I feel I have to for show; you know the silent prayers when all you do is close your eyes, bow your head and slowly count to thirty so that everyone sees what a good little witless you are with your super long personal prayer.

  Even some devout witlesses, and almost all the R&F, are relieved when they don't feel they have to; if they think no one is looking or aren't around someone they feel the need to impress, they don't pray.

  Guesse that throws the whole jaybooger is real and always watching thing right out the window doesn't it?
